Escape behavior
Escape cascades through possible exit actions in this order:
- Exit straightening tool
- Run any custom escape handler (modal close, etc.)
- Deselect active AI submask
- Deselect active AI patch
- Deselect active mask
- Deselect active mask container
- Exit the Crop panel back to Adjustments
- Exit fullscreen
- Return to library
You can press Escape repeatedly to back out of nested states.
Notes
- Shortcuts are disabled when a text input or text area is focused (so typing in a tag input never triggers a panel switch).
- Modal dialogs disable global shortcuts while open.
- Shortcuts also work via touch input on Android, see the AI / brush controls.
